So fortunate to be hired to do a live body painting demo for Drama Queen Makeup Academy and Town of Lashes this past weekend! I had a blast! Wanted to leave a little information about products and techniques in case anyone might be curious 😉
Here is how it turned out! I had a superrrr cute model to begin with so my job was easy as pie.
I did hair and makeup for this one. Very Rita Repulsa meets Dark Sea Witch…
Now for a list of products (exaggerated inhalation because it’s quite the list):
Complexion: RCMA Foundation
Eyes and Face Sculpt: Kat Von D- Shade and Light Eye Quad in Rust
Glitter over entire face: Lit Cosmetics- Champagne Wishes #2
Lip: Drama Queen Makeup– Brown Suga
Chunky Glitter on inner corner: Recollections Signature Sequin Glitter – I bought this from Michael’s Craft Store but they don’t have the sequin caddy I found. The link is for a very similar product though.
Glitter Adhesive: Eye Kandy- Liquid Sugar Base
Body Contour- Mac Cosmetics- Black Airbrush Makeup
Costume Designer, Genevieve Gantney made the black shell top that I adhered to the model using Spirit Gum. On top of that, I adhered some faux metallic pieces to make it more dramatic.
I watched these two videos and was super inspired to make the “jewelry” for the Merwitch. The first video is from Aodhamair. She makes some really cool costume jewelry from hot glue… AAND she has a free template download which is what I used 🙂
This video is from NsomniaksDream and she inspired the ear/fin jewelry! I used the hot glue technique from Aodhamair instead of wire and it worked!
As the last bit of day fades from the sky, the coffee brews.
The donuts emerge from the fire.
The sugars and spices are conjured.
With one bite, your soul is no longer your own.
The last feature from HALLOW: An Eerie Issue is the Donut Mermaid. In the vein of mermaids being tempting sirens that lead men to their deaths, so goes our dark beauty’s story, luring with something much more dangerous, donuts and coffee. mmm
BTW- Those contacts are yellow but Berkeley’s eyes are so blue they turned lime green which was really frightening in person. Great for the character!
I used the brow blocking technique with a water soluble glue stick to “get rid of ” Berkeley’s brows. A combination of a few different purple pigments from Lunatick Cosmetic Labs and a black shadow were used for the eyes. The black lip is also from Lunatick Cosmetic Labs in Black Cult. The black on her fingers in the first few images is a water activated body paint from Mehron.
The invite for this party was my favorite from the entire HALLOW look book. It was a mini coffin, holding not only the invite and event details, but also a few baby donuts!

Here’s way too much of my face at once for anyone to handle! There are a few more looks I didn’t show here. If you want to see, check out my IG (@BrittBrutal) or FB Page. Hope someone somewhere finds inspiration for their costume. I’m kind of sad I don’t get to dress up like this for work now =/
If anyone is in the Rancho area, I’ll be at RC Haunt tomorrow night making monsters with My Beauty Mark. Stop by and let’s get scared. I’ll be the one screaming… literally.
Happy Halloween!!!! ^V^
With this week being my last in CT, I had to do some last minute fun-shoots with Lost Highway Imaging. We had planned on doing a few concept shoots when we first met but never got around to it… well there’s no time like the present! Monday and Tuesday were so much fun… and so exhausting. Lots of time went in to hair and makeup and from what I’ve seen just from the camera, these pictures are going to look awesome! Just wanted to share a few pix I snapped while holding the reflector (that’s my other job). Beth, you rock!!
There are 2 loofas under that pile of hair!! I felt like Hair Madness by Laura making hair all cooll and stuff 🙂 Beth also made these fake cupcake props, get out. Thanks to model Beth for being our muse, she was also about 7 feet tall in heels with that hair!
My friend Genevieve made this “Fintastic” tail! (She’s a talented designer! If anyone wants her contact info let me know!!) Stephanie was a trooper letting me cover her brows and laying out there on that rock in the cold breeze! She even managed to attract a group of fisherman 😉
Then there’s the love of my professional life, Lauren. The pretty little She Devil. Hauntingly beautiful! I can’t wait to share these pix!!!
Sooo happy to have worked with and met everyone here! I learned so much from each person. I wish nothing but the best to my new friends and hope they work their butts off to get to their dreams. And don’t worry…
Lime Crime held a mermaid makeup look contest and I had to enter. Here is my initial sketch. Minimal and sort of alien.
This is how it turned out (I should have been born with rhinestones and glitter on my face). Glittery ombre blue lip. No She Didn’t from Lime Crime.
My look actually made it to the top 20 and is now up on Lime Crime FB for voting! If you take a sec to vote for my look by “Like”-ing the pic, I would be EXTREMELY happy! Sharing is caring, so if you like the look enough to share on FB, Twitter, Instagram, and other social mediums… THANK YOU. Vote HERE now… pretty please. oxxx B
